Jan Berglöf, M.Pharm. Dipl. BA (International Marketing), Managing Director and Founder of JHB Consulting AB and co-founder of Bio-Works Technologies AB.
Jan is an entrepreneur with job experience in several areas of the Life Science Industry. He has led development of downstream processes in the areas of human blood plasma products, recombinant proteins and mAbs (biopharmaceuticals), viral vaccines, plasmids for cell and gene therapies and other biotech products. He has been involved in product development and marketing both in management roles and project management roles. Jan has extensive experience in selling life science products with high level of technical complexity to scientifically qualified customers.
Between June 1974 - June 2005 Jan was employed at GE Healthcare (legacy Amersham Biosciences, legacy, Amersham Pharmacia Biosciences, legacy Pharmacia Biotech, legacy Pharmacia LKB Biotechnology, legacy Pharmacia Biotechnology, legacy Pharmacia Fine Chemicals) in several different positions and functions. Jan is co-founder of Bio-Works Technologies AB (BIOWKS Nasdaq First North) founded 2006 and he has retired June 2022. Bio-Works is developing and supplying novel agarose resins for down stream processing in the biotech industry.
Jan has an extensive contact network in Asia, primarily in India, where he is involved in downstream purification projects as well as in projects assisting European companies to find collaboration and distribution partners. Together with ABD Life Sciences Ltd with headquarter in Hong Kong (abd-life-sciences.com), he also covers China, Korea, Japan, the ASEAN countries, Australia and New Zeeland.
Jan collaborates with Bo Forsberg, at Forsberg Biotech / NIPU Konsult HB, Senior Technology Specialist and Subject Matter Expert In downstream processing of medical drugs (www.forsbergbiotech.se).
Jan is an author of 9 publications in scientific journals and books and co-author of 4 patents
As lead consultant in JHB Consulting AB Jan is currently working and providing his expertise for Cavidi AB, Uppsala, Sweden. Past missions include work for, MyCural Therapeutics AB in Sweden and Vision Biosciences Pvt in India.
